Presidents Message
On Saturday, April 14th the Leicester FireFighters Association held our 12th Annual Firefighter vs. Patriots Basketball Game. The night was a total success! Approximately 600 towns people attended and showed their support, the Doyle Family had set up a Pizza stand to benefit our Secret Santa program. LCAC was in place to cover the game and interviews for the twelfth year. We started the night by honoring past Association Vice President, Herbert Duggan Jr. and Firefighter Robert Woodruff who have just retired from the Leicester Fire Department. State Senator Mike Moore attended and joined the firefighter lineup, it was a good thing too he was one of our leading scorers. The Patriots showed up in force with names like Patrick Pass, Kevin Faulk, Steve DeOssie and Tiquan Underwood. There weren't many of us that didn't get fouled by Steve DeOssie at some point during the game. Chris Goodney Jr. surprised most of us for his first year by being our leading scorer. Although we were excited when we were able to tie the Pats, it didn't last long and for the twelfth year in a row they won the game. After the game all the players and their famalies gathered at the Cherry Valley legion to share food, stories and enjoy the music. I would like to thank everyone who participated with this fundraiser; the night couldn't have gone off any better. All proceeds went to our Firefighter Relief Fund.
Ryan Plante, President
